I have been continuing to paint the Atami Sea Fireworks Festival from different viewpoints.
From my rooftop overlooking the bay, from a boat floating on the sea, and through the reflections of light dancing across the water, each moment reveals a different atmosphere.
Working on a black canvas has taught me how beautifully it can express the depth of the night sky, drifting smoke, and the shimmering reflections on the ocean.
I have just ordered a new set of black canvases to continue exploring this series. Each painting captures a different memory of Atami’s summer nights—not only the fireworks themselves, but also the light, the sea, the smoke, and the emotion of the moment.
I hope these paintings allow viewers to experience the beauty and atmosphere of Atami, just as I felt it.
