Since moving to Atami, there is one place that always catches my eye in this season —
hydrangeas blooming beside the slope leading down to the sea.
Blue blossoms, piled stones, and the calm ocean beyond.
This time, I painted that everyday moment on a 100-size canvas.
Looking back at the process photos, it began as simple blocks of color,
and little by little became flowers, rocks, and sea.
Painting often moves me not only in the finished work, but in the layers of transformation.
This piece will also be submitted to the Shin Bijutsu Exhibition.
