On August 15, 2025, I struck a low power line while paragliding over Lake Kizaki and was transported to Shinshu University Hospital for surgery.
I still carry five screws in my back.
At the time, I wondered if I would ever be able to travel again.
Yet only five months later, I found myself heading to Cairns, Australia.
I even set off the airport security scanner thanks to those five screws! 😄
The first helicopter ride of my life was a rescue flight.
The next helicopter ride was a sightseeing tour over the Great Barrier Reef.
The same sky, but a completely different view.
It reminded me that every beautiful landscape we see is a gift of simply being alive.
This painting is inspired by that experience at Lake Kizaki.
Rather than a story about an accident, I wanted it to become a memory of survival and gratitude.
